Benefits of LED Torch Lights

The LED or the Light Emitting Diode torch is one of the most useful devices which can be used at home and work places. The LED torch is used in various types of devices these days. It is even possible to find these torches in mobile phones.
Portability: One of the benefits of these flashlights is easy portability. As it is available in a range of sizes and shapes, it can be easily stored and carried from one place to another without any hassle. Additionally, technology has led to the incorporation of these light bulbs into mobile phones which have further increased its popular usages.
Varieties: These flashlights are available in a multiple range of styles and designs at various affordable price rates. Some of these devices are available in sturdy covers with durable gripping materials such as rubber. Most of these flashlights also include carrying straps and storage pouches.
Luminosity: The brightness of these flashlights depends on the end user. For economical users, there are low beam lights which include lower power consumption. There are dimming control switches in many of the flashlights which are considered to be an attractive feature. The beam distance can be controlled in many of these flashlights.
Battery Life: Depending on the type of usage, the Light Emitting Diode flashlights have different types of batteries. Some models of LED torch lights can sustain battery life to up to 18 hours.
Some of these torch lights have SOS flashing mode which can be extremely useful during emergency situations. This signalling mode is mainly used to attract the attention at a distance.
LED torches are quite popularly amongst the hikers, they are used in headlamps as it is reliable and affordable.

Using LED Lights in Mining Industry

LED Lights in Mining Industry
Considering the unstable conditions of underground mining forced to change the lighting system.
The mining industry goals of today are different than they once were. Targets for productivity, safety and environmental sustainability are increasingly scrutinised. As commodity prices drop, operating expenses rise.
Little can be done to control the demand and pricing structure of a volatile industry, so mines around the world have started to attack the problem from the other end – operating costs. With efficient, green technology, such as LED lighting, mines can maximise their limited resources.
Most lighting challenges that operators face are the result of the high-vibration conditions on mining equipment. The constant, rapid movement is detrimental to traditional fixtures. For this reason, lighting related maintenance has always been a huge burden for mine operators. Whether replacing an entire fixture or repairing a broken lamp or ballast, lighting maintenance on mining equipment is time consuming, expensive and dangerous. Because LED lighting is solid-state technology, there are no fragile filaments or breakable glass components vulnerable to the constant shock and vibration.
As the mining industry moves to acceptance of LED lighting, the potential gains can be maximised. The options exist well beyond floodlights, as mining companies reconsider lighting within electrical rooms, machinery houses and walkways to further improve efficiency. Within the capabilities of LED technology, there are countless advantages for mining companies that remain untapped.

LED a power and money saver

LED lights use diodes to emit light and are considered as one of the best prevailing illumination device in today’s market because of their remarkable performance in terms of energy efficiency and making the environment a better place to live in. Although LEDs are far more costlier but they are the masters in their lumen output. In recent times, people have started understanding the importance of LED lights in saving environment and their utility / power bills, and thus have started using the LED lights greatly in multiple industries especially in vehicles, residential areas, warehouses, pharmaceutical companies, chemical companies, street lights etc.  The increased usage has brought down their costs to a great extent.
The LED lighting are conveniently designed for residential / commercial purposes and are manufactured in different wattages. Mostly the LEDs are in the colour of the daylight or Warm White; however, recent technologies led path in different colours.  These LED lights have a long life and they are known to last for up to 50,000 hours until there is a need to replace hem, whereas the fluorescent lights last for just 5,000 hours only, often they needed to be replaced before-hand. Thereby increasing the maintenance cost. This is a biggest advantage of using the LED lighting.
Considering the huge benefits these LED lights have on the residential and corporate establishments and the environment as a whole,  many organisation and companies have started using this lighting system in their offices and factories and warehouses for their establishments to have a greener environment and to enable high cost efficiency overall.
Even these LEDs are being used in huge quantities in residential areas because of their long lifespan that cover up the increased costs. Any light source is considered to be efficient or inefficient depending on the lumens it produces per watt.  An LED light is considered to be highly efficient, because it gives out around 130 lumens per watt.

Day by day LEDlights have been undergoing lots of development in terms of design, application and cost over the years. The huge lifespan of these lights, the efficiency of the lumen output they give, overall cost benefits they have, highly energy saving design they posses and the huge money savings that they produce on the power bills are few of the key reasons why LED lights are dominating the market.

White LED - Fourth Generation of Lighting

Lighting system development has been in four phases or generations. The first generation which everyone knows is very primitive oil lamp (candle), with further development came the second generation called as incandescence bulb invented by Edison, then came the third generation which everybody is aware of, called as fluorescent lamp. The latest revolutionary is the fourth generation of lighting known as white LED which is expected to dominate the lighting market in the coming future.
Since Nick Holonyak from GE invented the first visible LED (GaAsP), in the 60s of last century, red and green LED born, followed by yellow at 70s, green at 90s. Green LED plus yellow fluorescence material emits white light. Thus, LED applications started expanding from traditional display to most promising general lighting, replacing incandescence and fluorescent lamp. With the unparalleled advantages of energy efficient, long longevity, fast response, LED started becoming more and more popular in the lighting market.
Japan is the largest LED producing country inn the world, followed by China Taiwan.
The use of LED in industrial sector has shown a phenomenal growth. The major application growth is seen in the automobile sector which went up from 10% to 22% and lighting grew from 2% to 15%, and that for LCD TV and PC it went up to 7% and 6% respectively. This shows how the fourth generation which is LED that not only has the energy efficiency but also save the utility cost, has dominated the market and will continue dominating for next decade as well.

Broader LED Applications with New Technology

LED a legendary old concept is gradually getting moulded into one of the most important technology era. It is an alternative way to produce light at a much lower cost and increase the efficiency which will drive the change of multitude industries. Pots its introduction into the home and commercial market to replace the traditional incandescent and fluorescent lighting system, few interesting applications are taking place in its display technology.
LED signage is growing quickly with a multitude of companies trying to capitalize its growing demand. Additionally, growth in recognition of the LEDs advantages is increasing its market penetration.
LED displays are typically made up of individual pixels. The distance between each pixel is known as the pitch. The smaller the pitch, the higher is the resolution of the complete display. In order to create displays with higher resolutions, engineers have to find a way to shrink down the pixels themselves so that more can fit into a given space.
One such advancement was the creation of 3-in-1 SMD LED diodes. LED diodes have to have at least three different colours to display everything that your television or computer screen can display (red, green, and blue).
With pixels being placed close together and costs coming down, the applications and implications for LED signage are as broad as the imagination can take them.
